The "Canadian Mental Health Broadcasting Network" is being developed as a one-stop shop for mental health video and audio resources in Canada.
Canadian Mental Health TV (CMH TV) will be available across Canada and worldwide on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube and its own live streaming website. Canadian Mental Health Radio (CMH Radio) will be available on Apple and Android apps, Spotify, worldwide radio platforms (such as TuneIn, myTuner Radio and Online Radio Box), and its own live streaming website.
A schedule of programs will be published so that viewers and listeners can tune into shows that are of greatest interest and relevance to them.
OBJECTIVES:
While there are a number of mental health directories on the web, linking to various organizations and government departments - there does not exist a free one-stop media library that includes resource material from a wide range of sources. Our goal is to create the Canadian Mental Health Broadcasting Network featuring courses, programs, lectures, profiles, stories and interviews of use to mental health practitioners, caregivers, businesses and organizations, local governments, health care providers and persons with mental illness.
Our secondary objective is to produce content on new research that is otherwise unavailable or difficult to find.
Other objectives include the customization of content to meet the unique needs of the Canadian environment, to provide a reliable pan-Canadian outlet for information dissemination by mental health-related organizations, and to develop ongoing relationships with relevant stakeholders including mental health organizations operating at the local, regional, provincial and national levels.
NON-PROFIT STATUS:
CMH TV and CMH Radio do not exist for profit. All monies raised will be directed to the acquisition and development of content and the technical operation and maintenance of the TV and radio channels. As such, the Network will be registered as a non-profit organization under Corporations Canada.
FUNDING:
The Network will strive to receive its funding from stakeholder donations, paid content development, sponsorships and government contributions. Initially, there will be no corporate advertising.
